TVR Tuscan R- TVR T400 - TVR T440 - TVR Typhon - TVR Typhoon : what differences?
After having talked about the TVR T440R (like the one in the pictures) some emails have come from around to ask which differences there are among these cars. Here is some element of the classification of the TVR Tuscan R:
- TVR Tuscan R: new steel chassis, new body with carbon fiber panels, Speed Six 4.0 engine from Tuscan S, 400 hp.
- TVR T440R: like TVR Tuscan R but with 440 hp and different position for injectors (for FIA races).
- TVR Typhon: like T440. Among them, one unit was assembled with Vortech supercharger (550 hp?) and bigger brakes. Very few TVR Typhon has been made.
All these cars have been built during Peter Wheeler's period. Maybe two or three cars are actually in existance (and 5 race cars). Evo Magazine claims only one TVR T400 - T440 and three Typhons.
- TVR Typhoon: Nicolai Smolensky wanted to build a special model, the car of the rebirth of TVR factory in his hands but none car has been built; it's said there has been only a 1/16 scale prototype. Somebody talked about it and its introduction at Geneva Motor Show 2007 but nothing hasn't ever been seen.
